ACSR Wolf High Voltage Cable Bs215 Bare Conductor

1.0   SCOPE

This specification covers the design and construction of bare aluminum conductor steel reinforced(ACSR)conductors used for transmission of electrical energy in the overhead transmission lines.

2.0   REFERENCES

IEC 61089,IEC 60889,IEC 60888,EN 50182.

3.0   DESCRIPTION

Concentric lay stranded conductors composed of a central core of round zinc coated steel wire surrounded by one or more adjacent layers of round hard drawn aluminum wires being laid helically in opposite directions. The conductor shall be constructed generally in accordance with above mentioned standard.

4.0 CONDUCTOR CONSTRUCTION

4.1 Steel Core

The steel core is made of by of steel wire, which shall meet the following requirements:

Nominal wire diameter : 2.40 mm

Tolerance on diameter: ±0.03 mm

Nober of steel wire :7

Section of Steel wires:31.8 mm²

Min. weight of zinc coating: 215 g/m²

Min. Stress at 1% extension: 1170 N/mm²

Tensile strength: ≥1310 N/mm²(before twisting)

4.2Aluminum Strands

The adjacent layers［10］of round hard drawn aluminum wires shall be laid helically in opposite directions over the steel core. The aluminum wires shall meet the following requirements:

Nominal wire diameter: 3.60mm

Tolerance on diameter: ±0.03mm

Section of Aluminum conductorpart:249.4 mm²

NO. of aluminum wire : 24

Tensile strength: ≥165N/mm2

Recommended Lay Length Ratio:

1^st Layer: 12-14 right hand direction

There shall be no gap between wires of each layer and the conductor must not bulge out during bending, hauling, etc.

5.0   TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The completed ACSR conductor shall essentially meet the following requirements:

Rated diameter:21.6 mm

Nominal area:281.2 mm²

Mass of completed conductor: 706±1% kg/km

Resistance at 20℃: 0.125 Ω/km

Breaking strength: 6.710 dN

Module of elasticity:  7,700 daN/mm²

Maximum allowed current charge at 70 ℃:568 A
